Digital Me as a Statement

In 2019, I led face-filter making workshops for the School of Young Talent students at Royal Academy or Art, The Hague.

We started with a talk about what they’re thinking these days — as they are around 11-13 years old, school, parents, cosmetic makeup and phone use were the main concerns they were dealing with. ⁣⁣

After the talk, they expressed their thoughts on their faces using SparkAR and Adobe Photoshop. From the anonymous mask to a crazy makeup mask, the kids made brilliant digital themselves.

⁣It was quite surprising that AR technology became this accessible, as everyone picked up very fast. I was also very glad to see the children actively using new technology as their communication tool. (what a great generation!) Of course, lots of joy came along.
